Lasang Pinoy 15: RECYCLED, RELOADED!

Pinoys [or Filipinos] passion for food more often than not ends up with cooking more than what is required — with leftovers finding their way into freezers. And as conscientious as we Pinoys always are, these leftovers become creative and delectable culinary delights when whipped-up differently from how they were originally cooked.

In the Philippines, when you get replies of “panga” or “pangat” to your question of what’s on the table for lunch, dinner, or merienda, it only means one thing: recycled leftover food!

hiya… i’ve posted my contribution to this LP a while back. i’ve emailed and added the tag as per the usual instructions. but when you check technorati, there are only 2 posts that were detected with the lasangpinoy15 tag. what’s happening?

For us in Pampanga, “pangat” is a dish of fish (usually tilapia) cooked with sampalok. Similar to sinigang but less sabaw and a lot more sour. Kinda boring for me, but my folks love it, hehe
